Resources

Arts in health information and resources are becoming more abundant as this field is growing and becoming more recognized nationally.  We’ve collected some current resources and research to share. Explore International, national and local reports on the role of the arts in healthcare along with some arts-based resources.  We will continue to add to this growing list of information as we embark on research projects in VAH@BWH.

Visual Arts and Healthcare Research Grants

The VAH@BWH will host a national symposium in Boston on September 23-25, 2026: Bridging Visual Arts & Healthcare Education: Impact, Innovation & Research. This symposium aims to build community between the visual arts and healthcare professions, educators, and artists. Through an exchange of methodologies and emerging research our aim is to build the evidence to improve healthcare professionals’ skills and effectiveness as well as positively impact patient outcomes. To expand scholarship within the arts and healthcare fields we are excited to offer funding for five (5) research grants up to $10,000 each. Grantees will present their work at the 2026 Symposium. Please note: Applicants must be employed by Mass General Brigham (MGB) or appointed faculty at Harvard Medical School (HMS), through an MGB affiliates.
